Salem Bach Festival with Vivian Mayers

Join violinist Vivian Mayers in a conversation exploring the ways classical music and its instruments have evolved over time. A core member of the Salem Bach Festival, Vivian will perform various pieces from the Baroque repertoire on both her modern violin (made 2006) and an original baroque instrument from 1723. Attendees will have the opportunity to compare and contrast the sounds made by these two versions of the violin, and to learn about the way historical instruments inform performance practices.
