EDWARD MARTINEZ

Edward Martinez has been a volunteer with the league for over 5 years. He has served in a variety of roles, most
recently as vice-president and currently as the president of the Hispanic League. He has been a key chair for the league's most successful event
the annual Fiesta event, which attracts over 10,000 attendees. Edward has also served in a variety of critical
upgrades to the league, including the hiring of the Hispanic League's first Executive Director. He is currently employed
by the Pepsi Bottling Group and is a Territory Sales Manager for National Accounts. Edward was born in Monterrey,
Mexico, however he has resided in North Carolina for most of his life.

PAT GARDEA

Pat Gardea is a native of El Paso, Texas and lives in Winston Salem with her husband, Ray and their 3 children, Linda, Paul and Laura.
A former Spanish teacher with Forsyth Technical Community College and an active parent throughout her children’s education, Pat has also served under various community-based organizations and is a board member of Allegacy Credit Union.
Pat has been involved with the Hispanic League since its inception in 1991.
During those years Pat has been served on various committees, served as past President of the League and has assisted in program and event committees each year including Chairing Entertainment for Fiesta, Silent Auction Chair for Spanish Nite for 3 consecutive years.

INGRID CASSETTA

Cassetta serves as the Project Coordinator of the Intercultural Markets department at Allegacy FCU. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Business with a concentration in Human Resources. Cassetta is currently pursuing an MBA at High Point University. Born in the US, Cassetta had the opportunity of experiencing her Hispanic heritage for seventeen years while living in Guatemala City. She has served on the Hispanic League since 2006.

Maria Justice currently serves as the treasurer for the Hispanic League and has participated in a variety of volunteer roles with league. Maria is a Loan Officer with Members Credit Union and provides an array of services to her Spanish speaking customers.

BRYAN STEWART

Board Member
Bryan Stewart is a Territory Sales Manager with the Pepsi Bottling Group and has been employed with them for 10 years. He is married to Maria and has two children to keep him busy, Marcus and Meredith. Bryan enjoys coaching and watching his kids play soccer as often as time allows him. He has volunteered with the league for several years and most recently was the chair for the Hispanic League's annual Fiesta. This tremendous event combines the hard work of a legion of volunteers with the financial support of our corporate sponsors to provide the community with an exciting day full of music, food and a cultural experience for all to enjoy.

DAVID SISK
Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools
Board Member
Upon graduating with a degree in High School English from Appalachian State University, Sisk accepted an offer from the state of Puebla, Mexico to work in a bilingual program. Sisk returned to the States to teach English as Second Language at Forsyth Tech. Community College. He also taught elementary ESL in Lexington, NC and graduated from UNCG with a Masters of Education in ESL. Sisk is currently the Title III/LEP Program Manager for Winston-Salem Forsyth County schools, grant writer for the Toyota Family Literacy Program, 2008 member of the Board of Directors for the Hispanic League of Forsyth County and was named 2007 North Carolina Young Educator of the Year.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California from Mexican parents and moved to North Carolina in 1999. Denice currently works for BB&T as a Relationship Banker. She enjoys helping and being actively involved in her community. Her goal is to help educate, encourage and empower the Latino community in all aspects of their lives. Denice enjoys traveling, being with her family, the outdoors, the beach and meeting new people.

Eddie Hernandez is a successful Sales Manager for the Modern Automotive Network. He is an energetic individual and currently serves on the Scholarship committee and gives a lot of time to middle school students with his involvement in the Hispanic League's ESL program.

Keely Colburn is a Marketing Manager with the Pepsi Bottling Group in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is a member of the National Black MBA Association and has also served as volunteer with the Hispanic League during their annual Fiesta event held in downtown Winston-Salem. Keely has also taken on the challenging task of co-chair for the 2009 Spanish-Nite event. This event provides the community with a chance to honor and recognize our future Hispanic leaders by awarding them with a financial scholarship.

MARIA E. GARCIA

Membership
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Maria moved to North Carolina in 1981. Maria has worked for Wachovia Bank and Community Center and served as a Board Member since 2000. She has also been responsible for organizing the Virgen de Guadalupe event in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church as a member of the Catholic Hispanic Ministry. Maria has Chaired Spanish Nite for six years. She is currently retired and enjoys traveling.
